We have been awestruck, dumbfounded, and scared by how an “easy” virus was assaulting the human race, which first broke out in Wuhan, a city in Hubei province of China, in December 2019.
It has been reported that the majority of the cities which were attacked first by a coronavirus, were situated near the equatorial line. It has spread everywhere in the globe.
Iran reported its first case of publication coronavirus on February 19. Three days afterward, Italy reported its first case on February 22. Then, South Korea was using its biggest spike.
In the last four months, the virus has spread to over 180 countries and territories and has claimed over 70,000 lives.
Spain reported over 13,000 deaths, while New York has been announced as having the highest number of coronavirus infections in the United States. As of April 7, theĀ USA listed 10, 943 deaths against coronavirus, of which 4,758 occurred in New York.
Many theories, remedies, and remedies have circulated on social networking platforms because of the coronavirus epidemic. Some even went as far as inventing alternate treatments for the pandemic.
People around the world made platforms for many religious ‘duas’ in different parts of the earth. I am all for this and also have engaged in a number of these prayer ceremonies.
What baffles me, is that for many years environmentalists have been warning the people that they (humans) are overdoing everything: abuse of the natural water, trees, air pollution, and have affected our mother earth, which has been destroyed more and more every year.
I could give unique information, but I believe everybody knows of all those. When Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg gave her first speech on saving the environment, distinct quarters came up with conspiracy theories to prove that she had been put up by some corporations.
Nobody took note the mother nature was screaming along with her lungs telling us that she was suffocating, and needed to heal. Humans like Greta were granted voices on behalf of her.
It is not just Greta, many more like her in different areas of the world have been trying to point at things we were doing were not right, and if we wanted to live, our manners must be changed.
A few weeks ago, Greta cautioned the demand for saving the Earth. She said that she may have been influenced by coronavirus mildly, but since Sweden simply examines the severe cases, she hasn’t been examined.
She called upon all to save the planet and stated “We must fight the climate crisis as well as the pandemic simultaneously.”
We neglected to slow the carbon emission after the iceberg of Antarctica melted at an alarmingly fast pace, resulting in the sea levels rising. Additionally, the ice in the Arctic area has also been melting at a really alarming rate since 2016.
But the world leaders didn’t do much.
The majority of the wildfires were due to human mistakes. In 2019, Australia watched the worst bushfire recorded in decades, which destroyed over 12 million hectares of land. Canada and the USA have had bushfires often also.
In Bangladesh, we failed to rescue our rivers and canals, anyone who has ever tried to select a river cruise on Buriganga understands it.
The pitch-dark water provides a stench, which is enough to suffocate anyone near. However, we endure the smell and hold our breaths until we go to some part where the water becomes clearer.
The majority of us forget about the pitch-black water after we’ve returned from a joyous trip and of course posted some nice photos on the societal media.
But, there are nonetheless a few rivers such as Surma in Sunamganj, along with also the haors, that are clean and fresh, but with the growing number of traffic in those places along with the surge of garbage dumping, it will become polluted.
Additionally, our sandy sea beaches are now full of plastic bags and other waste substances.
Volunteers and cleaners are picking bags, garbage cans, and other garbage dumped on the beaches.
What I am saying is that it isn’t sufficient unless every one of us makes a conscious choice of not throwing garbage on the beach and the water.
News of animals leaving their refuge and walking around the localities have been broadcasted by some tv stations. According to a news report, there’s been a drop in seismic sound, the hum of vibrations on the planet’s crust, due to less movement of automobiles and shutting down of factories.
While this is harmful to the entire world market, one has to understand that mother nature was giving signs of not having the ability to take all the frenzy motion by its own inhabitants, destroying its natural resources, for quite a while.
Thus, who knows that the virus that is blocking our tracheal system, is simply to demonstrate what the mom character feels when we had been attempting to suffocate her.
Some environmentalists said when the epidemic subsides, we may see multinationals and international economies pacing to get faster recovery, hence it might create more greenhouse gases than before in a brief moment.
Many nations will not be able to keep up with the Paris agreement pledges to reduce carbon emissions. Let’s find better ways to use the tools that haveĀ been bestowed upon us. Surely we could. We must.
